I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY. It has been a lifelong passion of mine. I think it has been one of God’s biggest gifts to me, being able to capture the beauty of a moment that I can look back in forever.
I had the opportunity to take a film photography class this semester and I absolutely loved it. It was a lot of hard work. It’s very very different and takes a lot of patience. The shooting itself is a slower process. Then you have to take the time to develop the film and print the photos by hand. Each step is vital and time consuming. It’s a beautiful process that reminds me of the complexities that make this life worthwhile. These are some of my favorite prints from the semester. They went along with a project titled, “Through the Eyes of Dreamers,” in which I attempted to make landscapes more visually interesting to those that aren’t mesmerized by them the way I am. It was such an amazing experience and I am so grateful I was able to do it!
I am also so grateful for Shelly Webster, aka Webby for those who know and love her, for teaching me everything I know about photography. She inspired me every day in the classroom and continues to inspire me now, long after I graduated. I love and miss her so much! #givethanks
