What do you feel when you see these photos? In the moment, I felt nervous, excited, and a little foolish honestly. One because there is a very high likelihood that I am allergic to bees haha! Two because I was worried about trusting this sweet, gentle little bee in the first place.

But let's talk about trust. Trust is a heavy word, isn't it? The word itself holds so many different connotations based on who is reading it. It can take years to build, but only seconds to break. Once broken, we wonder if we can ever trust again. There is lot of vulnerability in choosing to trust. I experienced a lot of pain in my life due to misplacing my trust, which has made it difficult for me to trust others now. I felt like I could only rely on myself, and have had a hard time letting go of control because of it.

*Keep in mind that all of this is monologuing in my mind as I am trying to keep this bee from crawling into my sleeve.* So naturally, my thoughts returned to the sweet little guy, and how it was an act of trust for him to land on me in the first place. I could very easily have hurt him, but he chose to stay.

This experience turns my mind to God for many reasons. The beautiful complexity He put into this world, the love He has for each of us, and the trust I should be placing in Him. He just wants to help us, so why is it so hard to turn to Him? We put so much trust into things that can hurt us, but we don't trust the only one who will never break our trust. While it can be hard to trust in someone we can't physically see, if we open our eyes, we can see God in every detail of our lives. So choose to trust Him! I promise it will bless your life.

Thank you to the little bee who taught me so much about life. Now go out and conquer your fears!
